About Lifeshots

With years of experience capturing life and emotion in pictures, I crave the sound of the shutter snapping a memory that will now last a life time. I started taking photos on a professional level in early 2008 as a side hobby, and by August 2008, I had turned my "hobby" into Lifeshots. My goal with each shot is to trap a single moment in time… so you can remember the passion, emotion, generation and reason of that moment.

Lifeshots has allowed me to create and capture images on that professional level - challenging me to step outside of myself to feel the emotional connection between the subject and the moment. After all, it's your life... and your photos.

About Melissa

...and a little of what you can expect from me

I was born in 1985, and have spent most of my life in Missouri. I graduated from Central High School in 2003, and received a BA from Missouri Western State University in 2007. Currently, I live in St. Joseph, with my husband, Paul.

If you know me at all, you know how much the kiddos in my life mean to me. I have yet to be blessed with children of my own and I have attached myself to my nieces and nephews. They are my saving grace. Without them, I would not be where I am today. I thank my siblings for allowing me to be such a huge part of their lives. And I thank God for allowing them to have such a huge imprint on my heart. This is probably why I get so attached to the kiddos I photograph. I take the time to get to know each and every one of my clients and their families. I form friendships with my clients and often find myself forming a bond that shows in the memories I capture for them. There is nothing I love more than to look through photographs that I've taken over the years and see a family transform and grow. From a wedding to their first baby, to their second... it is touching to see all of the memories. I am also a goofy, caring, giving, loud, down-to-earth person who loves to love. To me, nothing is more important than love.
